Market Preview - September 20 - Every Thursday ...

Second crop tomatoes are plentiful at market along with okra and the fall crops of muscadines and peppers. Spreading Oaks selection of vegetables ranges from watermelon radishes to yellow squash and field peas. Jason with Spreading Oaks also has eggs and the first of the sugar baby watermelons being harvested! Donald's tomatoes are growing strong and okra is in harvest with several farmers. Ms. Sue is planning to make market this week with all her canned goods, shelled peas, & honey. Robilland Farm will be to market with cow pet milk products and fresh ground wheat bread. Ms. Adrianna and her Timberland Farms grass-fed beef will be there. Morning Glory Farms has jams & jellies, fresh vegetables, eggs, pork, chicken, and baked goods along with boiled p-nuts.

Footehills Farmhouse has figs, peppers, chard, and squashes in harvest and be sure to check out her farm made soaps, balms, and oils along with spice blends, fresh herbs, and infused vinegars. It is time for Fitzgerald Fruit Farms to harvest apples in several varieties and Dewey with Roberts Sweets & Treats will be there with fried pies, jams & jellies, and pickles. Stop by That Foreign Chick's Bakery for Jana's breads, cookies, and cakes. Chef Suga will be bringing her pimento cheese varieties and Bella Vita Mushrooms is planning to make market this week. Five Cedars Farm tomato's and muscadines are in harvest and look for their fall green tomatoes.

It is the dog days of summer and okra is abundant! This time of year harvests get a little wonky and sometimes farmers need a break to prepare for the fall abundance but both Jana with That Foreign Chick's Bakery and Ms. Adrianna with Timberland Farms Grass-Fed Beef will be back to market this week! Spreading Oaks tomatoes are still in harvest but slowing until the second crops of tomatoes finish growing but right now Jason's second crop of cucumbers are in along with muscadines, sweet potatoes, green beans, peppers, and eggplant. Jason also has watermelons and so does Ms. Sue. Also look for Ms. Sue's shelled peas, preserved vegetables, honey, and pickled eggs.

Footehills Farmhouse is harvesting the first of the figs and sweet Georgia candy roasters along with peppers, eggplant, fresh herbs, patty pan squash, and garlic. Louanna with Footehills Farmhouse also has farm made soaps and other bath products including lip balms and beard oil. Donald will have tomatoes and okra. Morning Glory will have their jams & jellies along with green tomatoes, baked goods, pork, and chicken. Velmon will be to market with okra and Robilland Farm will return to market this week with pet cow milk products and fresh ground wheat bread. Chef Suga's pimento cheeses will be at market including her vegan varieties. C&L Farm has microgreens, fresh herbs, peppers, and grow your own microgreen kits. Be sure to stop by Dewey's for a fried pie along with his pickles, jams and jellies. Radicle Root Botanicals teas and botanical wellness products should be market and stop by Fitzgerald Fruit Farm for fresh peaches.

Five Cedars Farm may miss market this week as will Quiet Acres and Bella Vita Mushrooms are between harvests for a few weeks.
