Market Preview - September 13 - Every Thursday 2-6pm in Downtown Rockmart
Second crop summer harvests are mingling with early fall harvest at the market this time of year and the selection is varied.
Valley Flowers is planning to make it to market this week for the first time this season with their muscadines, scuppernongs, and fall plants. Spreading Oaks selection of vegetables ranges from watermelon radishes to yellow squash and field peas. Jason with Spreading Oaks also has eggs and the first of the sugar baby watermelons being harvested! Donald's tomatoes are growing strong and okra is in harvest with several farmers. Ms. Sue is planning to make market this week with all her canned goods, shelled peas, & honey. Robilland Farm will be to market with cow pet milk products and fresh ground wheat bread. Ms. Adrianna and her Timberland Farms grass-fed beef will be there. Morning Glory Farms has jams & jellies, fresh vegetables, eggs, pork, chicken, and baked goods along with boiled p-nuts.
Footehills Farmhouse has figs, peppers, chard, and squashes in harvest and be sure to check out her farm made soaps, balms, and oils along with spice blends, fresh herbs, and infused vinegars. It is time for Fitzgerald Fruit Farms to harvest apples in several varieties and Dewey with Roberts Sweets & Treats will be there with fried pies, jams & jellies, and pickles. Stop by That Foreign Chick's Bakery for Jana's breads, cookies, and cakes. Chef Suga will be bringing her pimento cheese varieties and Bella Vita Mushrooms is hoping to make market this week if the flush is strong enough. Five Cedars Farm tomato's and muscadines are in harvest and look for their fall green tomatoes.
