Strawberry season has begun at market with the first week of fresh red berries from Fitzgerald Fruit Farm finally here. Strawberries will be in season for the next 6-8 weeks. The first of Spreading Oak's spring beets are also arriving at market and the lettuces, radishes, and green onions are in full bloom. Also look for dandelion greens and several varieties of kale.
Ms. Sue will be back at market this week along with her canned goods, pet milk products, and spring vegetables including collards and turnip greens. Bella Vita Mushrooms has a beautiful flush of mushrooms in several varieties including pink oysters, pathfinder, and lion's mane. Rachel with Bella Vita has also begun making tinctures with some of her medicinal mushrooms. Be sure to check them out!
Morning Glory Farm will make it to market with their jams, jellies, syrups and baked goods along with farm fresh eggs, pork, chicken, beef and lamb. Dewey with Robert's Sweets and Treats will be their with his fried pies and Footehills Farmhouse is celebrating their vendor anniversary with a sale on bath products. Also look for the first of their asparagus and plenty of fresh herbs along with Footehills pet goat milk products.
Suga's pimento cheese varieties will be at market and Robbilland Farm will be back with pet cow milk products, fresh ground wheat bread, and fresh eggs. Jana with That Foreign Chicks Bakery will be at market with beautiful cookies, treats, and breads and always check out Timberland Farms grass-fed beef.
