Market Preview April 19, 2018 - Every Thursday 2-6pm - Downtown Rockmart

Join us this week for a Strawberry Fest! Alex with Fitzgerald Fruit Farms is ready with an abundance of strawberries. Pick up a free strawberry at the green market booth and learn how to make angel food cake at the cooking demo. Spreading Oak's spring beets are also arriving at market and the lettuces, radishes, and green onions are in full bloom. Also look for dandelion greens and several varieties of kale, collards, and rainbow chard.

Ms. Sue will be at market this week along with her canned goods, pet milk products, and spring vegetables including collards and turnip greens. Bella Vita Mushrooms has a beautiful flush of mushrooms in several varieties including pink oysters, pathfinder, and lion's mane. Rachel with Bella Vita has also begun making tinctures with some of her medicinal mushrooms. Be sure to check them out!

Morning Glory Farm will make it to market with their jams, jellies, syrups and baked goods along with farm fresh eggs, the first of the broccoli, pork, chicken, beef and lamb. Dewey with Robert's Sweets and Treats will be their with his fried pies and Footehills Farmhouse will bring asparagus, salad mix, and plenty of fresh herbs along with pet goat milk products and bath products.

Velmon Hayley has spring plants and muscadine jelly. Suga's pimento cheese varieties will be at market and Robilland Farm will be at market with pet cow milk products, fresh ground wheat bread, and fresh eggs. Jana with That Foreign Chicks Bakery will be at market with beautiful cookies, treats, and breads but Ms. Adrianna with Timberland is taking a break this week and will be back next week.

In partnership with Polk Medical Center there are two cooking classes scheduled this week for young people. Thursday and Saturday classes focus on Chicken with mushrooms and spring greens. Get registered on our website www.RockmartFarmersMarket.com/upcoming-classes
